Yong Chee Foon first trained as a pianist and went on to study vocal music where he obtained an ATCL in Voice from Trinity College London. His passion for choral music began when he first joined Victoria Junior College Choir and later Victoria Chorale.
Together with the Victoria Chorale, he has received numerous accolades and medals from numerous bodies at several international competitions, including the Choral Competition in Riva Del Garda (Italy), the Llangollen International Music Eisteddford (Wales) and more recently at the Choir Olympics in Bremen (Germany).
Currently he is the conductor of several Singapore school choirs which continually perform well at the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging. His choirs have also ventured overseas in the last few years to participate in several international competitions. The choirs have performed well in these festivals, achieving Gold and Silver awards.
