Huimin started singing in the choir and performing at the age of 6 and undergo classical voice training at the age of 13.
At the age of 15, Huimin also started conducting as a student conductor in CHIJ Toa Payoh Secondary School and Catholic Junior College.
As the president of CHIJ Secondary School Choir 2001-2002 she has been to Australia International Music Festival, Sydney and received Gold award.
In her own solo singing, she has also presented Singapore at 7th international arts and music competition, Japan, Takasaki, at the age of 15 with a Merit award and travelled to Hong Kong with the Singapore Police Force as student ambassador.
Huimin has been featured on the Chinese newspaper and Straits Times as a classical performer and a songwriter when she was 17 as well as receiving her Associate Diploma (ATCL) in classical singing at 17. She has been featured in various performances such as MOSAIC at Esplanade. As well as doing backup singing for “Dont Forget The Lyrics”, Mediacorp, Channel 5, Channel 8, APEC and for international renowned stars.
Huimin has also received the National Arts Council Bursary Award in 2007 as an honors degree holder from Lasalle College of he Arts, majoring in classical voice.
Currently, she is a full time choral director. Schools under her baton have received Silver and Gold awards.
