This year under the guidance of Angila, Fuhua Secondary School choir attained their first Gold award in the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Choirs.

In 2008, Angila led CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace Choir, Concord Primary School Choir, Kheng Cheng Primary School Choir and Kranji Primary School Choir to 2 Gold and 2 Silver Awards in the Singapore Youth Festival, Central Judging for Choirs.

CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace Choir was then invited to perform at the Nanyang Technological University Annual Choir Concert and also at the SYF Choral Presentation, Synergy.

Angila was also invited as a tutor for the pre-festival SSA choir in the inaugural World Youth Choral Festival organised by CCAB (MOE) in December 2008.

“Angila ’s commitment to the choir for the past six years is commendable. Her dedication to the pupils and the motivation she gives is proven successful as she leads the choir from two silvers to their first Gold Medal in the SYF Central Judgung of choirs 2008

The pupils have enjoyed her innovative and engaging lessons throughout the years in the CCA.Pupils have also gained self confidence in the CCA under her charge as she nurtures and  prepares then for various puplic perormances.”

“Ms Angila Tan is an excellent vocal teacher who truly cares for students under her charge. She has the unique ability to bring out the best in evey student’s voice and has helped  them develop poise and confidence in their singing.

Her teaching is creative and tailored to each student’s needs and concerns - she makes her lessons interactive and interesting by incorporating fun solfege games and activities. She is always dependable, reliable, very positive and encouraging, thus creating a learning environment that is friendly and welcoming.

Under her training, she has helped my choir clinch a Gold award for SYF (2008). It’s clear that she truly loves what she’s doing and shares that love and enthusiasm for music with her students.

Ms Angila Tan is an enthusiastic vocal teacher who inspires her pupils and challenges them to scale to greater heights. Her unique pedagogical skills have helped to develop her pupils’ potential in voice. She is able to build up an excellent rapport with her pupils. She has definitely touched the hearts of countless number of pupils who have bloomed from being shy singers to confident vocalists”

“Angila is the first professionally trained choir mistress the school engaged when we decided to take part in the SYF Central Judging in 2006. Through her enthusiasm and dedication, the choir has grown from strength to strength. She has built up excellent rapport with Kheng Cheng School Choir.She uses her very unique musical games and fun solfege teaching skills to help the members to sight sing the scores.

Besides doing her part as a conductor, she always gives the choir motivation push whenever they need it so that they will always do their best in every choir rehearsels and performances and strive for excellence. Working hand in hand,our choir was awarded a Silver Award at this year’s 2008 SYF Central Judging for Choirs, a result the school is very proud of.”

Angila also coach students on piano and theory of all levels since 1996.
