Marcus began his training as a musician in Tanjong Katong Secondary School and later Victoria Junior College, both in which he served as student conductor. Upon graduating, his passion led him to join the Victoria Chorale where he continues to hone his conducting skills under the tutelage of Mr Nelson kwei.

Marcus has assisted in numerous schools such as his alma mater Tanjong Katong Secondary School, Anglican High School and Commonwealth Secondary School as a vocal tutor, imparting his knowledge on voice and also helping to prepare the choirs for concerts and competitions.
