<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">CDAS President Jason Ong reported on the major events that the committee organized from Dec 2009 to June 2010.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- The Score-reading session organized for primary school conductors was a successful one.<span> </span>The participants found the session very helpful and beneficial for their preparation for the primary SYF competition 2010.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- The Conductor’s retreat originally planned to be in Jan 2010 was cancelled due to a lack in the number of participants.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- Divertimento 2010 was a huge success.<span> </span>33 primary school choirs took part in this event held at the Victoria Concert Hall.<span> </span>Many conductors who took part said that the event was very helpful in giving the students invaluable performance experience before the SYF competition in April.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- A workshop entitled ‘How to manage choirs more effectively’ was organized for choral conductors and choir teachers-in-charge in May.<span> </span>Many of the participants gained much from the workshop aimed at tackling the non-musical aspects of handling choirs.<span> </span>Among the guest speakers were conductor Ms Lim Bee Na and Mdm Goo Lay Hoon teacher-in-charge of TKSS.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Feedbacks for Divertimento from the members </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- Divertimento was very helpful.<span> </span>However 2 hours may be too long for primary school children to sit through the performances.<span> </span>There was a suggestion to make it a 1 and a half hour performance slot for schools to watch the choirs perform.</span></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Feedback on how to make attract more conductors to join CDAS</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- Provide more privileges, give more priority for events and other choir matters to members of CDAS.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- Collaboration with CCAB to organize choral workshops and events.</span></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Give feedback to CCAB on choral issues and problems faced by choral conductors</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">- Request for meetings with CCAB music officers on a regular basis instead of waiting for CCAB to ask.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The Treasurer, Mr Yong Chee Foon then present his report of the CDAS accounts.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-GB">Members in attendance then voted for the Executive Committee for 2010/2011.</span></span></p>
