Ageism and Career Management

The sharing aims to increase the participants’ level of awareness pertaining to ageism and career management in the Asia Pacific region with a global perspective.  Furthermore, participants will be exposed to some career theories/framework and their application to retirement decisions.

 

Participants shall have,

  1. Gained knowledge in ageism and career management of older adults.

  2. Appreciated their role in assisting retirees with career management.

  3. Insights into concerns that older clients face in their working lives and during retirement planning.

About The Speaker

CARLA SISON SIOJO, MA 

Carla is Ex-Officio President of the Asia Pacific Career Development Association, an international organization that gathers career development professionals who work in or are interested in the Asia Pacific region.   She is the Vice President of the Association of Placement Practitioners of Colleges and Universities, an organization in the Philippines that promotes good job placement practices.  She worked as Director of the Office of Placement and Career Services in the Ateneo de Manila University for 8 years. 

Carla is also a parenting and relationship consultant, a coach and a counselor. She is happily married to Manolet for 38 years, has 4 grown-up children, and 5 grandchildren.  Given her numerous involvements, her family has top priority in her life.   
 

About The Panelist

ANTHONY MOK

Anthony developed his HR & Talent Management experience through numerous overseas stints and exposure to diverse industries, in both MNC and SME set-ups. With a background in Life Sciences, Project Management and Training, he also holds local ACTA and IHRP-CP professional certifications. 


His recent transition to the education sector was fuelled by his interest in coaching, leadership development, facilitation and working with young adults.


A father to two active teenage boys, any free time he has is spent outdoors for walks or indoors for sessions over a board game or two.

DR. TIMOTHY TSI

Dr Timothy is an educator of counsellors and coaches, with over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. The counsellors and coaches he has trained over the years work in organisations such as Ministry of Education, Workforce Singapore, E2i, Nanyang Technological University as well as numerous private training and coaching companies.

 

He founded Abundanz Consulting Pte Ltd (Singapore) and is the Master instructor for Knowdell’s Job and Career Transition Coach certification programme across Asia and is a certified NCDA Facilitating Career Development Instructor. Additionally, he is the Country Leader for the coaching game “Points of You” for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

As the Founding President of CDAS, Dr Tim hopes that CDAS will grow to become the platform for all career practitioners in Singapore to build their professional identities through networking, collaboration and active participation.
